Patch Notes
Perilous Legends changes fast. This page tells you where to find the running notes and gives you the human version of what has landed lately.
Overview
There is no frozen, numbered changelog to memorize here. Perilous Legends is in active development, and updates ship through the launcher as they are ready. What follows is not a robotic list of every line that changed - it is a plain-language look at the big things that have shown up recently, and where to watch for the next ones.
Where the Notes Live
Two places, and the launcher makes it painless:
- Discord. The Perilous Legends Discord is where announcements and the running commentary on changes go. If you want to know what just changed and why, that is the place.
- The launcher news box. The launcher shows a short news line when you sit down to play, so you get a heads-up before you even log in.
You never have to go fetch a patch yourself - the installer pulls whatever changed the next time you launch.
What's Landed Recently
A sampling of the bigger additions and changes, in the order they matter to a player rather than the order they were coded:
The Garuda takes to the sky
Flight got a new face. The flight mount is now the Garuda - a blue-winged roc with a proper flying animation that looks a lot better in the air than the old mount did. If you have unlocked flight, you will notice the difference the next time you take off.
Hamlets now hand out an ethereal Garuda
Holding a hamlet is worth more than bragging rights. The guild that controls one earns an ethereal Garuda mount for its guildmaster - a solid (non-transparent) ethereal that is locked to the controlling guild. Lose the hamlet and the mount goes with it. See Hamlets & Siege.
Weather you can actually feel
Storms sweep the map now - rain and thunder at sea, snow inland, and sandstorms in the desert - wrapped in a fog-of-war that closes in around you. Ships caught in a storm slow down, and the small radar picked up new tricks so you can spot ships and cannon fire through the murk. See Ships & Sea.
Gear wears out for real
A major, permanent change to how gear works: weapons and armor now have durability that ticks down and eventually breaks the item - and there is no repair. Instead, you disenchant old magic gear into a powder that can restore a piece's durability. It keeps loot moving and makes gear something you use up rather than hoard forever. The full lifecycle is on Disenchanting & Durability.
More ways to sail, craft, and carry
Ships gained a run of upgrades you can slot for speed, cannon tricks, and escape tools. Crafters got place-anywhere workstations, pets got their own equipment, and the bank got saner thanks to type-sorted storage tomes. New mounts keep arriving too - elemental steeds and a stable of imported exotics. See Mounts & Flight.
A Note on Alpha
Things are still moving. Perilous Legends is under active development, so numbers get tuned, systems get reworked, and the occasional feature gets pulled and rebuilt. If something on the wiki does not match what you see in game, the game is right - and please flag it in Discord so we can fix the page.
