Profession Workstations

One place-anywhere station per craft profession - double-click and make things right where you stand.

Overview

Workstations are a simple quality-of-life system: seven crafting stations, one for each craft profession, that you can set down almost anywhere and craft at directly. Double-click a station and it opens the same craft menu you would get from that profession's tool, so you can work in the field, in a hamlet, or wherever you have parked - no house, no fixed forge, no hunting for a workbench.

How They Work

A workstation behaves like a permanent, shared crafting tool bolted to the ground:

The Seven Stations

There is exactly one station per craft profession, and each opens that craft's normal menu.

Smithing Anywhere

The blacksmith station is worth calling out. Normally smithing needs you to be next to both an anvil and a forge. The station satisfies that requirement by itself, so you can smith at a blacksmith station without a separate forge or anvil nearby. Set one down and you have a complete portable smithy.

Placing One

Stations are available in towns in their respective shops, and also as House Add-ons on the Perilous Merchant, placeable in a house by the owner. Each comes in an east or south facing so it lines up with whatever you are building against, and once down a station is a fixed fixture.
