Perilous Legends Wiki

New Player Guide

You just found Perilous Legends and you want to play. Here is the short path from nothing to standing in the world with gold in your pack.

Welcome

Welcome to Perilous Legends, a unique world based on the Siege Perilous ruleset with an abundance of features not found anywhere else. A full-loot game world that focuses on player justice, reputation, and risk vs reward.

This guide gets you in the door and pointed at your first real goal. Work through it in order the first time. Every step links to a page with the details when you want to go deeper.

1. Get the Game

Download and run the installer, sign in, and let the client finish patching. The launcher keeps the client up to date, so you never hunt for files.

Full walkthrough, including what to click on the first-run security prompt, is on the Installer page.

2. Make a Character

Once you are in, you land on the character-creation screen and build one character. Note the word one: Perilous Legends is a one account, one character, but multiple build shard. There are no alts and no mule accounts. The character you make is the character you play. Through the Personality system you will be able to change builds and playstyles.

That is a design choice, not an oversight - it keeps specialization social and makes trading with other real people matter. All your builds are connected to one name. As are your actions.

3. Pick a Class

Perilous Legends has PvM classes, and your class shapes how you fight, earn, and survive:

Pick the fantasy that sounds fun to you rather than chasing a "best" pick - every class has a place here. You are not married to it: you can switch classes later (a swap runs a short channel and has a cooldown, so it is deliberate rather than a between-fights toggle), and your single character can hold multiple skill builds through the Personality system - start with two, unlock more. So the first choice matters, but it is not a life sentence. The full breakdown of each class, with strengths and playstyle, lives on the Classes page.

4. Your First Hour

Get comfortable before you get ambitious. A good first hour looks like this:

  1. Learn to move and fight. Kill some weak creatures near a town, get a feel for your class, and watch your health bar.
  2. Bank early and often. Anything you would hate to lose goes in the bank. Remember: this is a full-loot shard, so what is on your corpse can be taken.
  3. Find a town and the vendors. Guildmasters, quartermasters, and stalls are where you re-supply and pick up work.
  4. Do not over-carry. The fastest way to lose a first hour of progress is to haul it all into danger.

5. Earn Your First Gold

When you are ready to actually make money, the standout earner on the shard is Trade Packs. You craft a pack from a region's own goods, carry it overland on your back, and turn it in at an outlet in a different region. Long hauls into a region that wants the goods pay the best.

It is one of the highest gold-per-hour activities in the game - on a good route, in the ballpark of tens of thousands of gold an hour + Magical Weapons, armor and Rare drops - but it is not free money. A loaded pack slows you down and everyone can see you carrying it, so a run is part logistics and part nerve. Start with a short, safe route to get the hang of it, then reach for the longer, richer ones.

A trade pack rides on your back and slows you the whole trip - your first real gold, and your first real risk.

Not the only way to earn. Monster loot, crafting, and quartermaster bounties all pay too. Trade Packs are just the clearest first target with the best return for the effort. Exact payouts are set in-game - confirm them at a trade outlet.

6. Stay Alive

A few rules will save you a lot of grief:

The full ruleset - accounts, murder counts, lawless zones, and the payment stance - is on the Shard Rules page. Read it before you take a real risk.

Where to Go Next

You are in, you have a class, and you know how to make gold without throwing it away. From here, follow whatever sounds fun:
