Inscription
Scrolls, runebooks, wizard staves, contract scrolls and the Elementalist's spellbook.
Overview
Inscription writes spell scrolls and a set of shard tools for mages, merchants and crafters. Spellbooks and blank scrolls themselves are bought from mage vendors.
What It Does
- Scroll windows by circle: 1st -25 to 25, 2nd 11 to 39, 3rd 4 to 54, 4th 18 to 68, 5th 32 to 82, 6th 46 to 96, 7th 61 to 111, 8th 75 to 125. Each scroll costs the spell's reagents, a blank scroll and its mana.
- There is no Recall. Gate Travel is scribed at 18 to 68. A runebook needs 45 skill, 8 blank scrolls and 2 Gate scrolls.
- Wizard Staff (70): 10 boards and 2 blank scrolls; a channeling weapon for caster builds.
- Merchant Certificate (80): 10 blank scrolls and beeswax; used by Trade Packs.
- Elementalist Spellbook: 25 blank scrolls, 5 leather and an Elemental Essence.
- Contract Scroll: 10 scrolls, beeswax and a Contract Mark, makes 10.
- Disenchantment Wand (100, never fails): 10 boards and an Arcane Gem; better wood, more charges (100 to 275).
- Inscription is one third of the Protection spell's strength, with Evaluating Intelligence and Meditation.
- Spell damage: +1% per 10 points of Inscription, in both PvM and PvP (10% at 100, 12% at 120). It stacks with Spirit Speak's matching bonus against monsters. Against players and their pets or summons, the two bonuses together are capped at +10%.
On Perilous Legends
- Every successful craft rolls for a Crafting Contract: about 1 in 1,000 for Apprentice (50 items), 1 in 2,500 Journeyman (100 items), 1 in 5,000 Grandmaster (250 items), each paying gold and class coins.
- Materials used count toward the Master Crafter leaderboard. Roughly 1 in 500 crafts drops a Guild Crest.
- There is no repair on Perilous Legends; worn gear is replaced or disenchanted. See Disenchanting & Durability.
- Sockets at 100 real skill (beta value), wizard staffs included. Scribe workstation for your house. The Enchanted Quill (Scribe Quartermaster) gives +20% success.
- The Scribe Quartermaster has 25 quests and sells Inscription power scrolls.
Classes That Use It
Artisan: every level gives +1% exceptional chance, saves 5% more materials on a failed craft and adds a small chance to double output. Inscription Mastery (level 6 fork, instead of Fletching) adds +5 effective Inscription per level.
