Animal Taming
Tame it, keep it, level it. 120 Taming and Lore means it always obeys.
Overview
Animal Taming brings creatures under your control. See Taming & Pets for the pet systems it opens.
What It Does
- You need at least the creature's taming requirement to try, then stay within 6 tiles. Each previous owner makes it harder; a tamed creature keeps 90% of its skills.
- Control is a weighted mix of Taming (x4) and Animal Lore against the creature's difficulty. At 120 Taming and 120 Lore your pets always obey.
- Leveled pets need Taming and Lore to match their level (105 to 120 for levels 7 to 10). Dragon Turtle and Stygian Drake eggs hatch at 110/110.
On Perilous Legends
- When your pet helps kill something in its league you have a chance of a Taming gain and a Lore gain.
- Pets never gain skills by themselves; affinity books, pet power scrolls and Pet Equipment are their progression.
- Real tames count for the Beastmaster leaderboard.
Classes That Use It
Biologist: Gentle Hand +1 Taming per level; Beastmaster raises the follower cap to 6.
Training It
Tame up the difficulty ladder and hunt with your pets. Animal trainers teach it; champion and Village Warden scrolls take it to 120.
