Biologist

Tamer specialist - taming, more stable slots and better vet care baked in, with forks that turn your pets into a war pack.

Overview

The Biologist is the tamer's class. Its passives raise your effective Taming and Veterinary, and hand you an extra stable slot every level - up to ten more. The forks then decide what your followers become: poison-proof, crit-happy, armored, or a single Apex beast built up beyond the rest. It rewards players who fight through their pets.

It runs on Animal Taming, Animal Lore and Veterinary. See the Taming page for how pets, control slots and stabling work on the shard.

Passive Bonuses

Always on against monsters, scaling with your Biologist level. Maxed at level 10:

Signature Procs

Two procs fire off your own attacks against monsters (not your pets' hits), and both buff the pack. The weaker triggers at 0.5% per level (5% at 10); the stronger at 0.1% per level (1% at 10). PvM only.

Fork Abilities

At levels 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 you pick one of two, permanent for the build. Each costs Specimens (10 / 20 / 30 / 40 / 50). Nearly every effect lands on your followers.

How It Plays

PvM. Your pet is the weapon and you are its support. The passives let you tame higher, keep more creatures stabled, and heal them harder; the forks pick a direction - a crit-focused damage pet, a heavily armored tank pet, or one designated Apex you pump full of extra HP and damage. First Aid and Ferocity procs keep the pack topped and swinging fast. Beastmaster's sixth control slot is a quiet powerhouse: one more body, or a bigger single creature. This is a strong, low-risk solo farmer.

PvP. The follower bonuses and procs are PvM only, so in a player fight your pets fight at their base stats and you are relying on control and body-blocking rather than class buffs. The Biologist is a farming and clearing class first.

Coins & Leveling

The Biologist spends Specimens. Earn class XP worth 10% of the gold your kills drop (active class only), fill the bar, then pay the Biologist Guildmaster the target level times ten in Specimens per level (about 550 for the full climb to 10). Fork abilities cost extra coins. Coins drop for everyone off tough monsters, and Prism Coins cover any class coin you are short.

Not Locked In

Your first class is free and instant. Changing later takes a 2-minute channel (hold still, take no damage) plus a cooldown between swaps. Each class keeps its own level and forks, so leaving and returning does not reset your Biologist. Note that the class layer boosts effective Taming while active - your tamed pets themselves stay with you across a swap.

One character can also hold multiple skill builds through the Personality system - two slots to start, up to five for gold or Ether Charged Powder, swapped with a 2-minute channel (a fresh slot starts your skills at zero to retrain). A tamer build and a melee or caster build can share the same character.
