Alchemy
Brew potions from reagents, plus a shelf of shard-only mixtures that feed pets, summons and sieges.
Overview
Alchemy turns reagents and empty bottles into potions. On Perilous Legends it also produces a handful of custom brews that other systems lean on, and it counts toward Crafting Contracts and Artisan progression.
What It Does
The classic potion list is all here: heal, cure, refresh, strength, agility, night sight, explosion and poison potions in their usual strengths. You need a mortar and pestle, bottles and the right reagents.
- Grave Dust (no skill needed, 50 per batch): consumed by Necromancer summons for +25% health.
- Growth Serum (no skill needed): doubles a pet's experience for one hour.
- Battle Spike (100 skill): a siege weapon; bottle, 5 iron ingots and 5 sulfurous ash.
- Antifungal Potion and Livestock Supplements (100 skill): agriculture consumables, bottle plus honey and 10 nightshade or 10 ginseng.
- Pet Summon Ball (100 skill): 1 opal and 10 bloodwood boards.
- Soothing Balm (120 skill): a Total Refresh, Greater Cure, Greater Heal and 5 bandages in one bottle; strips curses and damage-over-time effects. Reaching 120 takes Alchemy power scrolls: the Ring, the Bauble and Artisan perks add to your skill but never lift the cap.
On Perilous Legends
- Every successful craft rolls for a Crafting Contract (Alchemy contracts never demand exceptional quality).
- The Alchemist Quartermaster sells a random Alchemy power scroll, the Alchemist's Ring (+10), the Alchemist's Bauble (+20) and the Diamond Mortar and Pestle, a blessed mortar that never wears out.
- Alchemist workstations are available for your house.
- At 100 Alchemy (your shown skill, so the Alchemist's Ring, Bauble and Artisan Alchemy Mastery count) you drink potions with both hands full.
- Potions brewed feed the Alchemist leaderboard.
Classes That Use It
Artisan: Alchemy Mastery (level 4 fork, instead of Tinker Mastery) adds +5 effective Alchemy per Artisan level, up to the 120 ceiling. All Artisans also get more exceptional crafts, save materials on failure and occasionally double their output.
Training It
Brew potions near your skill level. Alchemists and herbalists teach the basics. Champion and Alchemist Quartermaster power scrolls take it to 120.
