Evaluating Intelligence
The spell damage skill: your Eval against their Resist decides how hard a spell lands.
Overview
Evaluating Intelligence is the caster's damage skill. Spell damage is scaled by how far your Eval sits above the target's Resisting Spells, then doubled against non-human monsters.
What It Does
- If your Eval is higher than their Resist: +1% damage per 5 points of difference. If lower: -1% per 2 points. Magery adds its own small term (-25% at 0, +5% at 120).
- Against monsters that are not human the result is doubled. At 100 Eval against a creature with no Resist that is 2.4x base damage.
- Paralyze Field lasts 2 + Eval/10 - Resist/10 seconds. Protection's strength averages Eval, Meditation and Inscription.
- Active use estimates a target's intelligence and, from 76 skill, their mana.
On Perilous Legends
Pets cast with their own Eval: pet spell damage is Int/20 + Eval/20 percent, and pet power scrolls can raise it. Pet cards on the Auction House show it. In the champion power scroll pool.
Classes That Use It
Elementalist and Necromancer damage perks are level-based and stack on top; neither replaces Eval.
Training It
Cast damage spells at things that resist. Mages teach it.
