Champion Rotation

Only three champion spawns run at once. Find the live ones, keep the candle climbing, and don't let it go quiet.

Overview

A champion spawn is the classic escalating encounter - kill through waves of ever-tougher creatures to raise the level, feed the red skull, and eventually call down the champion at the top. Perilous Legends has ten of them placed around the world, but they do not all run at once. At any given moment only three are live.

The rotation exists to concentrate the action. Ten simultaneous spawns would scatter everyone thin and leave most sitting idle. Keeping three live at a time means the players who want champion fights find each other, and the spawns nobody is working get handed off to fresh ground.

Three Active at a Time

Out of the ten placed spawns, the system keeps exactly three active at random. The other seven sit dormant until the rotation calls them up. Finishing a champion frees that spawn's slot, and a new random spawn activates to take its place - so there are always three live somewhere to go find.

Under the hood, vanilla auto-restart is switched off on every managed spawn, so a completed champion never quietly re-lights itself. The rotation is the sole thing that activates a natural spawn, which is exactly how the system can tell a player-summoned spawn apart from one it started itself.

How Spawns Rotate

The rotation checks itself once a minute and moves spawns around on a simple idle rule.

The takeaway: an active spawn you are actually fighting will not get pulled out from under you. Spawns only rotate away when they have been left alone. Find a live one, keep it moving, and it is yours.

Valor Summons

You can still force an inactive spawn to life with a Knight of Valor summon, but it plays by the same idle rule. A player-summoned spawn does not count toward the three natural rotation slots, and if it goes an hour without progress it despawns just like any other idle spawn. In other words, summoning one is fine - just be ready to actually work it, because nothing protects a spawn that nobody is fighting.
