PvP Event Rotation

Scheduled, opt-in team fights that run around the clock - show up, sign up, and get dropped into a fair, instanced match.

Overview

PvP events are the organized, scheduled side of fighting on Perilous Legends. Instead of hunting for a fair fight in the open world, you sign up at a stone, get teleported to a staging area, and play a round with balanced teams and consistent rules. When it ends you are returned exactly where you were, with everything you were carrying.

These are entirely opt-in and separate from open-world combat and its reputation rules - see Murder & Reputation for how killing works outside these events. Nothing you own is on the line: your gear is held safely and handed back, so events are the place to go when you want a straight fight with no risk.

The Schedule

Two events run on the automatic clock: the Defense of the Shards MOBA and the Paintball arenas. Each one recurs every four hours, and the two are offset from each other so that Paintball fires two hours after each Defense of the Shards. The net effect is one event roughly every two hours, alternating Defense of the Shards, then Paintball, then Defense of the Shards again.

Each stone lights up for a signup window before its own slot, so you always have time to queue. Which Paintball mode is up, and the exact team sizes and minimum turnouts, are set at the stone - confirm the live details there.

Signing Up

Each event is fronted by a sign-up stone that only wakes up in the 30-minute window before its slot. It glows while signups are open and sits dark the rest of the time. Walk up, double-click it to join the queue, and double-click again to drop out. There can be several stones in different towns; they all share one window and one queue, so it does not matter which you use.

An event needs a minimum turnout to fire. If too few sign up, it is cancelled and everyone is released with their gear intact. Signing up is a commitment to play, not a reservation - and for the team events, leaving a match early and not returning can earn you a temporary ban from all events, so only queue when you mean to see it through.

The Waiting Room

Signing up teleports you to a Waiting Room on Trammel, an enclosed island that is a full safe zone - no fighting, no stealing, no spellcasting, and no recalling or gating in or out. You are dismounted on the way in; a real mount is stabled for you and an ethereal one is tucked into your pack, both returned when you leave. You simply wait there until the signup window closes and the match assembles.

Your gear is handled for you. On entry your backpack, worn equipment and mount are moved into a secure stash that survives a crash or a relog, and you arrive in the match on equal terms with everyone else. When it ends - win, lose, or the event is cancelled - all of it is handed back and you are returned to the Waiting Room, where a Moondoor lets you gate out to any of eight Felucca cities. Stepping through it before the match starts also cancels your signup. You cannot lose your kit in an event.

How a Match Is Built

Both events are instanced and formed fresh from whoever is in the room when the window closes. The queue is split into balanced sides, and a large turnout is spread across multiple instances so a big crowd still gets clean, playable matches instead of one giant scrum.

PaintballFree-for-all or two teams, up to a couple of dozen players per arena instance, split across arenas as the turnout needs.

Whichever event you are in, the loop is the same: sign up at the lit stone, wait in the Trammel room, get sorted into a balanced match with your gear stashed, play the round under that event's own rules, and get teleported back out with everything restored.

On-Demand PvP

Not everything runs on the clock. The Dueling Arena is separate: a 1v1 and 2v2 dueling board you can start any time from an Arena Duel Stone, no schedule and no waiting for a slot. If you want a fair fight right now rather than at the next event, that is where to go. Like the scheduled events, it costs you nothing and risks nothing.
